About the Book
Once a month a full moon rises in the night sky. But every time it does, this big gleaming circle has a different name! From January's Wolf Moon to June's Strawberry Moon to the Harvest Moon of September, Once in a Full Moon tells in lively rhyme the stories behind this monthly visitor, many of which come from Native American tradition. Richly colored full-page illustrations accompany the story that teaches both kids - and their adult readers - the reasons behind different names for that brilliant ball in the sky.
About the Author
When Carolinda Goodman doesn’t have her nose stuck in a book, she loves to explore nature, and the sky is one of her favorite places to look for adventure. Whether she finds clipper ships in the clouds or hunters in the starry night sky, it’s all an exciting quest. But it’s the full moon that holds the greatest intrigue, and that’s why she wrote this book.
Under her “other” name, Carol Goodman Kaufman writes for local, regional, and national media. She is the food history columnist for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and Worcester Living magazine.
